Is it just me, or has this week been weirdly long for no good reason? I kept thinking it was Thursday when it was only Tuesday, and don’t even get me started on whatever was happening with my inbox. Luckily, a fresh wave of entertainment showed up right on time. If you’re in the mood for a new movie to obsess over, a book that’ll keep you up past your bedtime, or a show you can pretend you’re only watching “one more episode” of, there’s plenty to choose from. Here’s what’s new this week, from April 29 to May 5.

Thunderbolts* released May 2. Marvel’s highly anticipated antihero team-up hits theaters with Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and David Harbour leading a morally gray crew taking on a powerful threat. It’s darker in tone and packed with action, aiming to shake up the MCU formula.
Another Simple Favor now streaming on Prime Video. This sequel to the 2018 dark comedy reunites Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick for another round of secrets, style, and murder. The story picks up with Stephanie and Emily navigating another dangerous mystery — this time in the glamorous world of European elite.
